The Ram 1500 is a full-size pickup truck that offers best in-class performance. Two different powertrains are available, both of which feature an enhanced 48-volt hybrid system. A 3.6L V6 engine delivers 305 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque, while an improved 5.7L V8 engine boasts 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. Rear-wheel drive comes standard on most trims, but all-wheel drive is available for an additional cost on every trim except for the Tradesman HFE.
The Ram 1500 features an elevated hood and active air dam system to reduce drag and optimize efficiency. An optional air suspension lowers ride height at higher speeds to improve efficiency as well. When you have an important job to do, the standard Tradesman trim has a towing capacity of at least 6,740 pounds. When equipped with a 5.7L engine, the Ram 1500 can deliver a best in-class towing capacity of 12,750 pounds.
If the standard engine options are not enough, then the separate Ram 1500 TRX model offers all the on-road performance you could desire. The 6.2L V8 engine generates 702 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. It has a maximum towing capacity of 8,100 pounds.
