More information about the 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe:

The Suburban and Tahoe are by far the best-selling models in their class, and they're tough rivals for the Ford Expedition, Toyota Sequoia and Nissan Armada, among just a few others. These two Chevy models are closely related in most ways--although there's a key difference: The Suburban is 14 inches longer in wheelbase and 20 inches longer overall than the Tahoe; and that results in a significantly larger third-row seat than in the Tahoe--as well as easier access to it, and more cargo space. Compared to rival models, the Chevy Tahoe and Suburban still stand out for their good ride quality and efficient engines, and they handle surprisingly well considering their size and mass. They're also very rugged and versatile, and can be outfitted for off-road toughness, tow ability, and interior luxury as needed. Chevrolet claims that the Suburban will be the most fuel-efficient model in the full-size SUV class, thanks to its standout combination of fuel-saving technologies like direct injection and active fuel management (cylinder deactivation). Although the profile of the Suburban and Tahoe haven't changed all that much, Chevy has managed to make significant improvements to aerodynamics. Yet chiseled sheetmetal and big, flamboyant wheels (up to 22 inches) help maintain a powerful look.

Strengths of this model include towing ability, Much-improved interior, relatively fuel-efficient engines, comfortable, refined ride, seating space, and versatility and toughness

I have had the Tahoe Premier for 2.5 years. Pro: Very easy to drive, even with a full cabin. The get up and go is great. Huge difference from the 5.3 and great when pulling a trailer. Cons: Very cheap, carpet coming up and messed up in several places within the first 10k miles, driver seat not very comfortable. Had issues with a jerk motion when going to drive (as if I was still in reverse and slammed it into drive). After two years, it was a warranty fix. Now I have a loud pop noise when I go from a stop to forward motion, in the front end, feels like passenger front. Because of the large wheels and tires, you can not turn the wheel completely either direction. After taking it to the dealership several times, they showed me where the stop was hitting and now it is fine (just can't turn it all of the way). I have had this happen with after market wheels and tires so I understand but did not expect it to be an issue with factory wheels and tires. Any time there is a message on the display screen, another messages comes up and stays on at all times until the message is cleared ("Information Forward Collision System Reduced"). I would not recommend this vehicle because I feel like you could get a GMC that is a little more comfortable for the same price and same engine. You loose so much when you drive it off of the lot since it is so overpriced.
  • Cannot keep this vehicle

I want to love this vehicle, I really do but GM's lack of customer service is going to make me get rid of it and because of their overall service, I will never buy another GM car again. Overall, the vehicle checks the boxes if you are looking for a large SUV that has good room inside, is styled nicely inside and out and can tow a decent amount. I purchased the Platinum trim level new in 17. As soon as I drove it alone w/ nobody in the passenger front seat I noticed a ticking noise coming from that seat. Think of someone pressing a computer key as rapidly as possible. Long story short, vehicle has been into two different dealers almost twenty times for the same issue (among others), the seat has had numerous parts replaced, engineers from corporate have come by to try to diagnose it, I opened up a claim with corporate GM. All I want is a new seat since they cannot fix the problem. They refuse to do it and told me the noise is 'normal'. No its not! I have driven a few others of the same year and none make the noise. They have closed my case and refuse to help me or fix the seat and I cannot keep a vehicle that taps and rattles all the time. Especially a vehicle I paid $60k for. Shame on GM for not doing what is right and taking care of a customer. No way a vehicle should be back close to twenty times for the same issue and then told to deal with it basically. I will be trading this vehicle in on another brand SUV and I will never come back to GM again.
  • Good solid SUV

Solid, reliable vehicle. Nice creature comforts. Only ding on this vehicle is the reliability of the fuel pump. GM has had this issue for years and never changes the design to make it more reliable. I've driven it since new for work, and at 97,000 miles it has crapped out 2 fuel pumps. 1 at about 50,000 and recently at 96,000. It is a $1,000 repair bill to replace it, not a do-it-yourself project either. You have to pull the fuel tank off to access the fuel pump module in the top of the tank. Not an easy fix w/o proper gear.
